Editorial Standards

Last reviewed: July 5, 2026

Every tool and article on Toolssy is built to be accurate, useful and trustworthy. These standards describe how we create and maintain our content and generators.

Accuracy and testing

Each generator is unit-tested to confirm it produces correct, unbiased output for its stated purpose. Number tools are checked for even distribution across their range; list tools are checked against curated, reviewed data sets; and every generator is verified to run entirely in the browser.

Randomness quality

Where the browser supports it, our tools use the Web Cryptography API (crypto.getRandomValues()), a cryptographically-strong source, rather than a basic Math.random() call. We are transparent that our tools are intended for everyday use, not for cryptographic key generation or regulated gambling.

Clarity and honesty

We write in plain language, avoid exaggerated claims, and clearly label anything that is generated for testing or entertainment (such as fake emails, addresses or phone numbers). We never present placeholder data as real.

Corrections

If you spot an error in a tool or an article, please contact us. We review reports promptly and update the affected page, noting the review date.

Independence

Our recommendations and explanations are not influenced by advertisers. Toolssy exists to give people fast, private, free tools.
